Tax refunds – the easier way to file

Even if you’re looking forward to a tax refund this year, filing taxes can still make you want to pull your hair out. But there are things you can do to make filing a little easier.

First, getting organized and preparing now can help you avoid last minute panic. If you’re not sure how to prepare your taxes or where to go for help, MyFreeTaxes.com has everything you need. Plus their volunteer tax preparers can be found in vans around the country to help you file.

Even something as simple as filing your taxes online with direct deposit can get you your refund in as little as 10 days. It can take up to 6 weeks when you file by mail.

Did you earn less than $58,000 this year? You may be able to file your federal and state taxes online for free with The Beehive.

Reminder: watch out for help that sounds too good to be true, like instant cash back and other tax scams. If you took advantage of homebuyer credits you need to file by mail. Can’t file online? There are other ways to get your refund too.
