It’s easy to forget that just about anyone can see what you post online. But your status updates and comments may actually say more about your credit than what you had for lunch.
Social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) have changed the way we share information with friends, family, and well, everyone else on the web. But these sites are also changing the way organizations, like banks, collect our information.
Personal finance expert, Erica Sandberg, says the people you’re friends with online and the data you publicly share can be compiled to assess your credit. Some information could even mean the difference between getting a good rate and being flagged a credit risk. Of course, being careful about what you say and who you add as a buddy can help protect you and your credit online.

Astonishing!
I had better start posting status updates such as “Paid my credit card bill today
”.
